Here Comes the Bride

Along with this past weekend being Mother's day it was also my soon to be sister-in-law's bridal shower.  I had a great time. We skipped the cheesy games and help Sarah finish some of her wedding favors, ate some delicious food, and preview Sarah's self-designed, handmade wedding dress.

Sarah's mom past away a couple of years ago, so she won't be able to be physically with us on the big day. We know she will be with us in spirit. Sarah's sister Beth gave Sarah the perfect gift, a photo of their mom from her wedding day, so she can be with Sarah on her big day.  (The far left is Sarah's mom and dad on their wedding day, Sarah's mom, and my parents on their wedding day).

Sarah, welcome to the family, we are so blessed to have you.

Nurture Photography Challenge Spring 2013: Pink/Home

I loved the vibrancy of these flowers. I have no idea what they are but they are both amazingly beautiful. They just make me happy when I look at them.

Cinco de Mayo Favs

I had some friends over for a Cinco de Mayo inspired dinner. I used recipes from Skinnytaste. I discovered Skinnytaste a while back and have loved every recipe I have tried. All the picky palates at the dinner table love her recipes too. Here's my Cinco de Mayo menu breakdown (I didn't take any photos...I was too busy enjoying the food!).  I also made my own mango salsa and pico. I think my favorite was the Mexican "Unfried" Ice Cream. So good!

I love having my house full of friends. It may be one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday evening.

Nurture Photography Challenge Spring 2013: Ivory/Dream

This was a tough theme for me. Arizona weather has been down right HOT! With the high temps this last week, anything with blooms has been fried (insert sad face). Ivory flowers/plants are fairly limited in the Arizona landscape. Maybe I should have gone with dream?

I decided to stop by one of our local plant nursery's - Harper's in hopes of finding some blossoms still in bloom.

 And later stopped by the local Lowe's store.

This a moss. I loved the itty bitty miniature blossoms. They are about the size of a pencil eraser.
